CMSimple vs WordPress
Ah, life used to be so simple with cmsimple.
Now providers are all switching to the latest version of php and the CMSimple community doesn't seem to be able to catch up. Many plugins suffer trouble and need code changing by hand. A nightmare for website maintainers.
Switch to WordPress then? Not so easy, well at least not for everybody. Apart from the possible conversion trouble & costs, there's also the (new to calculate) maintainance costs and possible downtime during conversion to consider. And/Or maybe even switch providers.
WordPress needs a database, where CMSimple could still do without. That's a challenge for end-users who are used to simply fill out the forms on CMSimple. Not realy, of course; it's up to the installers/maintainers to convince the end-user that WordPress can be just as friendly and easy to use. It just takes a little time to read and study this 'new' environment.
But it's worth every minute, considering the trouble with CMSimple. Sorry CMSimple, thank you for the good years. But it's time to move on.
